Fave beauty christmas prezzies

Hey girlies!!!
Christmas has just passed and I thought I would share with you my favourite beauty pressies.

1. Naked 2 Palette
My favourite present was this eyeshadow palette. It's got a great selection of colours that are really nicely pigmented. It also has a matte white, taupe and black which are just great to have as a base for your eyeshadow looks. This was from my Auntie :)

2. Coralista lipgloss
This is such a lovely sheer peachy colour. It smells of peaches and tastes really nice and sweet. It's not sticky and I really love it. I asked for this and my mum put it in my stocking.

3. Rimmel glitter nail varnish in disco ball
I'm a big fan of glitter nail varnish on my ring finger. I think it looks really pretty. I have never thought to try this. It is so nice and I recommend it, especially because it's only £2.99!

Cranberry joy body shop hand cream review

I got this hand cream for £2 as it was from the christmas line along with the passion fruit body butter for only £5 (I love the passion fruit and vineyard peach body butter). I really like it but the draw back is it's greasiness. It doesn't absorb quickly and the actual product is actually really greasy. It's quite moisturising but I'm not sure if I recommend it because it stays on my hand for half an hour, rendering my hands useless. The scent is an artificial berry sent with an addition of a kinda whipped cream or sugar.

EOS in the uk!

Those of us living in the UK will be disappointed that unfortunately eos aren't stocked in shops in the UK....or are they?! A couple of years ago I paid an unscheduled visit with my mum to Harvey Nichols, After spotting the beauty mart (which reminded me of Walmart) I hurried in and found an arrangement of EOS! I checked in today and they still have them! There is also a site in Topshop on Oxford Street and just a stock of them in Selfridges. If there is no beauty mart near you they do have a website, click here. They are seven pounds and stock the flavours:

  • Strawberry Sorbet
  • Honeysuckle Honeydew
  • Lemon Drop
  • Medicated Tangerine
  • Sweet Mint
  • Summer Fruit

I seriously recommend them, have bought 3 from them and it's great that I have easy access to EOS. I am planning on collecting all of them but we will see! If you really want Strawberry Sorbet go in on a friday (earlyish) as that is when they get their new stock!

D.I.Y. Lipbalms

As you have seen from my previous two posts, I am obsessed with lip balms. My new current total is 36 as I have made some and bought a kit of six cupcake lip smackers. I have made four lip balms and have thoroughly enjoyed creating my own flavours and different tints. Today I am going to be telling you how to create your own lip balms (sorry but this post has no pictures).

YOU WILL NEED:

- a microwave
- a spoon
- petroleum jelly (vaseline)
- a lipstick
- a knife
- a microwavable jug ( anything with a spout)
- a pot or old lipbalm stick container
- oven gloves

OPTIONAL: a label maker

STEP 1: cut off a very small amount of the lipstick and put it into the jug
STEP 2: add a table spoon and a half of petroleum jelly to the jug
STEP 3: put the jug into the microwave for 3-6 minutes depending on it's power
STEP 4: remove the jug with everything as a liquid while wearing oven gloves so not to burn yourself
STEP 5: quickly stir the lipstick and petroleum together to create a colourec liquid
STEP 6: pour the mixture into a stick or pot
STEP 7: put it into the fridge for 2-6 hours to let it set (it's easiest to just leave it in overnight)
STEP 8: using your label maker print off a chosen colour name and it's brand *
STEP 8: take it out of the fridge and enjoy your tinted lip balm

*my favourite is in the shade peach melba and my brand is called bleggie's beauty balm

THE PIGMENTATION OF THE LIP BALM DEPENDS ON WHICH AND HOW MUCH LIPSTICK YOU USE!

Lip balm addict

So....I have an obsession. Lipbalms. I have 40 including the ones that tint my lips. If you do not include tints then I have 18. Here are reviews on some of my favourites
EOS
I have three eos in total: raspberry pomegranate, blueberry acai and honeysuckle honeydew.
My oldest is honeysuckle honeydew. I purchased that in Harvey Nichols in the brief period of time in which they sold them for £7 each. The other two I received in a swap. My favourite is blueberry acai. It smells of sweet blueberry pie and moisturises really well! My next favourite is raspberry pomegranate. It smells of artificial raspberry or raspberry sweets. It moisturises quite well but out of all of them, works the least well. Honeysuckle honeydew is my least favourite, I think that's because I have had it for so long that I am bored of it but I don't really know. It smells of sweet melon and moisturises amazingly!

BLISTEX
Before buying these two days ago, I had never tried the Blistex brand lipbalms but I could tell within the first few uses that they were amazing. I use the pot lipbalm just before bed or just after I wake up. The stick I use during the day. The pot tingles my lips when I put on and smells quite medicated, which I personally don't mind. If you don't really like scent at all you won't like any of the lipbalms that I mention. The stick smells EXACTLY like rasberry lemonade, which I absolutely love. Both balms are clear and are really nice and moisturising. The stick cost £1.75 and the pot £2.59.

 BABY LIPS

I have eight baby lips, all of the ones available in the uk and two of the u.s. ones, grape vine and the strike a rose electro. My faves are peach kiss, strike a rose, grape vine and cherry me. You can see the colours above. The electro is VERY pigmented and the peach kiss one is quite sheer. The other two are simply like tinted lipbalms. Out of the two I would say grape vine is more pigmented. I hate pink punch as it's not at all wearable as it is a weirdly pigmented barbie pink, not at all something I could pull off! The clear ones I don't really like as they are based on petrolatum (petrolium jelly main ingredient) which will make your llips feel soft and supple a few minutes after but in the long run dry out your lips, requiring you to reapply lip balm constantly.

Maybelline baby lips in the uk!!!

Hey girls!
Baby lips are in the uk for just £2.99! I have bought five out of the six colours as they didn't have the last ones I have tried three of them and after having used them for a few days, I can safely say I love them! The ones I have tried are:

-pink punch
-peach kiss
-intense care

My fave is peach kiss but I can hardly decide! I really recommend them though they don't have great staying power so I do find myself re-applying it in the loos every hour or so, though I talk so much it should probably come off with in half an hour like most of my other lip products! To conclude I would really recommend them and for £2.99 isn't it worth a try?
